About the name Mohini
Mohini is Vishnu himself in a woman's form, deployed to trick the asuras out of the nectar of immortality, which makes the name a story about strategy dressed as beauty. Kerala's Mohiniyattam dance is named for her, giving the word a second life as a performance tradition.
Mohini is a girl name of Sanskrit origin, pronounced moh-HEE-nee. On the NameRarity scale it scores 90 out of 100, which places it in the very rare band — a genuinely uncommon pick — most people have never met anyone with this name. Its strongest period was the 1980s.
