About the name Pinky
Pinky belongs to the great Indian tradition of the ghar ka naam, the house name given in infancy that then refuses to leave and ends up on a law degree. It leans female by a wide margin, though the masculine Pinku is common enough in Bihar and Bengal that the pair should be read as one name.
Pinky is a unisex name of Hindi origin, pronounced PING-kee. On the NameRarity scale it scores 93 out of 100, which places it in the ultra rare band — fewer than 1 in 10,000 people carry this name. You will almost never meet another. Its strongest period was the 1980s.
