About the name Harihar
Harihar is theology compressed into two syllables, the fused form in which Vaishnavas and Shaivas agree they are looking at the same god. Temples from Badami to Java carry images split down the middle, half Vishnu and half Shiva, and the name carries that same refusal to choose sides.
Harihar is a boy name of Sanskrit origin, pronounced HUH-ree-hur. On the NameRarity scale it scores 94 out of 100, which places it in the ultra rare band — fewer than 1 in 10,000 people carry this name. You will almost never meet another. Its strongest period was the classical era.
