About the name Ursula
Ursula means little she-bear, and between a Cologne martyr, a titan of speculative fiction and a European head of institution, it has gathered an unusually varied roster. Disney did it no favours in 1989, though the name is slowly shrugging that off.
Ursula is a girl name of Latin origin, pronounced UR-syoo-lah. On the NameRarity scale it scores 83 out of 100, which places it in the very rare band — a genuinely uncommon pick — most people have never met anyone with this name. Its strongest period was the 1930s.
